Classes Offered

At Mountain Pointe Dance, we offer a wide variety of classes designed to support every dancer’s journey—from first steps to advanced training. Our programs focus on building strong technique, creativity, and confidence in a fun and encouraging environment. Whether your dancer is exploring movement for the first time or looking to refine their skills, there’s a place for everyone to grow, express, and shine!

Students are placed based on their age as of September 1st for the Fall Session and January 1st for the Spring Session.

For example, if a child turns 5 after the cutoff date—even if it’s the second week of classes—they should take a Tiny Dancers class for that session.

This helps us create a consistent and developmentally appropriate experience for all dancers.

Teacher Placement Discretion:

In some cases, based on experience, ability, or emotional readiness, a dancer may be placed in a different level at the director & instructor’s discretion. These placements are made thoughtfully with the dancer’s growth, confidence, and classroom dynamics in mind.

Pre-Tiny/Tiny Dancers

Our Tiny Dancer program is the perfect introduction to the world of dance for our youngest students. Pre-Tiny Dancers (ages 2–3) explore movement, rhythm, and imagination through creative dance in a playful 30-minute class designed to build coordination, listening skills, and a love for music. They should wear ballet shoes, a leotard or comfortable dancewear. Tiny Dancers (for experienced 3 year olds—4 year olds) take the next step with a 45-minute class that combines the basics of ballet and tap. With a focus on foundational movement, musicality, and classroom structure, this program gently nurtures confidence, creativity, and joy in every little dancer. Tiny dancers will need pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, any color leotard and tights. Tutus and leg warmers are optional!

Ballet ( Levels 1-5) & Pointe

Our ballet program offers a progressive curriculum designed to build strong, well-rounded dancers. Each level focuses on developing proper technique, alignment, strength, and grace in a supportive and disciplined environment. Dancers begin by learning fundamental positions, posture, and movement patterns, and gradually move toward more complex combinations, fluidity, and artistry. As they advance, students refine their musicality, performance quality, and technical precision. Eventually advanced dancers will have the opportunity to dance en pointe at their instructor’s discretion. Ballet is the foundation of all dance, and our classes aim to instill both the discipline and beauty of this timeless art form.

Jazz (Levels 3-5)

Our jazz program blends technique, energy, and performance in a fast-paced and engaging class. Dancers in Levels 3–5 continue building on foundational skills with an emphasis on clean lines, sharp movements, and musical precision. Each class includes structured warm-ups, strength and flexibility training, across-the-floor progressions, and dynamic center combinations. Jazz at this level challenges dancers to refine their style, improve stamina, and bring personality and confidence to every combination.

HipHop

Our Hip Hop classes bring energy, rhythm, and style to the dance floor. Dancers learn foundational grooves, isolations, and fun combinations that build confidence, musicality, and individual expression in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Our Lyrical & Contemporary classes focus on expressive movement that connects emotion with technique. Dancers explore fluidity, musicality, and storytelling through dynamic choreography, developing strength, flexibility, and artistry. These classes encourage dancers to interpret music with grace while building a strong technical foundation.

Lyrical & Contemporary

Our tap program blends rhythm, musicality, and style in a progressive structure designed to grow with each dancer. Dancers will develop coordination, timing, and confidence as they explore the art of making music with their feet. Each level builds upon the last—starting with basic sounds and patterns, and advancing to more intricate footwork, syncopation, and performance skills. Tap classes are upbeat, challenging, and a great way for dancers to deepen their connection to music through movement.

Tap (Levels 1-5)

Acro

Acro blends dance with acrobatic skills, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and control. Dancers practice safe progressions for skills like bridges, chin stands, splits, handstands, and rolls, building confidence and increasing flexibility along the way. Before registering for an Acro class, be sure to reach out to a staff member as all students are placed by skill.
